Mid-Atlantic SCBWI Conference

My local chapter’s SCBWI conference is coming up, and I’m very excited about it. Here’s the information:

LOCATION/TIME: Holiday Inn Dulles; 45425 Holiday Drive, Dulles, VA 20166. (Noted as Sterling, VA on some GPS devices); 8am to 5:30pm
Keynote Speaker: Han Nolan, National Book Award winner for Dancing on the Edge(http://www.hannolan.com)
Featured Speakers: Editors: Chelsea Eberley (Random House); Caroline Abbey (Bloomsbury); Abby Ranger (Disney-Hyperion).  Literary Agents: Quinlan Lee (Adams Literary); Jennifer Rofe (Andrea Brown Agency); Authors and Illustrators: Brian Lies (Bats at the Ballgame); Anne Marie Pace (Never Ever Talk to Strangers); Meg Medina (Tia Isa Wants a Car), Tami Lewis Brown (Soar, Elinor), Wendy Shang (The Great Wall of Lucy Wu) Amy Brecount White (Forget-Her-Nots). Additional faculty TBA.
 
Cost: $135 members; $165 nonmembers (Includes a light continental breakfast and a box lunch)
 
Lodging: The discounted room rate for SCBWI members at the Holiday Inn Dulles is $79/night (plus tax). Reservations must be made by September 30, 2011.
Registration: Begins September 1. Conference flyers will be mailed to all area SCBWI members the last week in August. Please note: This event is very popular and fills quickly—often long before the early registration cutoff date. ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. CONFERENCE TUITION IS NONREFUNDABLE.

  1. Wow it really seems to be conference season all round – everyone’s talking about them! I feel so jealous, there don’t seem to be many happening around here and I’m dying to go!
